What is diabase?

The name of diabase’s composition is equivalent to the gabbro. Crystal look, fine – in grain, dark gray to grayblack, often with a green structure or sub-green structure, with dark gray, gray and black three colors.

Diabase is similar in composition to gabbro, but it is relatively shallow and not as deep as gabbro. There are many kinds of diabase according to the different ingredients, such as the high quartz content is called quartz diabase; containing zeolite, orthoclase, etc., called as alkaline diabase and so on. Diabase is the best building material.3
