The star rack is an important part of Raymond mill system, but it is also neglectful. People is familiar with the roller, ring and other wearing parts, but the star rack is often neglected. The star rack is the supporting of the whole grinding system, including the shovel blade, main bearing and rollers. The star rack is often cast by high hardness and high wear-resistance material, such as nickel cast iron, high-chromium cast iron, high manganese steel, etc. Besides of material, casting and handling method is also important. For example, the hardness of metal pattern centrifugal casting roller shell can reach 700HB, but the hardness can only be 500HB if cast with sand casting.
Generally speaking, the star rack will not be damaged in normal operation. Raymond main mill drives the central axis with driving device, the axis drives the star rack to rotate, and the rollers on the rack will grind the material in to powder. The feeder will continuously transport the raw material in to the mill, and the blower will blow the powder to the classifier. The are 3 or 4 rollers installed on the star rack, they will grind and smash the material into product powder.
