What is the purpose of black talc powder? Guikuang, a manufacturer of black talc grinding mill machine and equipment, searched relevant data and sorted out the purpose of black talc powder.
What are the uses of black talc powder?
(1)Application of black talc in ceramics
Talc has good physical and chemical properties such as thermal stability. It is widely used in refractory, papermaking, rubber, insulating materials and other fields. Black talc has a single chemical composition because of its black color. A small amount of organic matter in its composition can be completely removed by combustion efficiency under the condition of high temperature heating at 1100 ℃. After ultra-fine grinding, high-quality high white ultra-fine talc powder can be obtained, and the whiteness can be up to 90%. In ceramic production, it can improve the thermal stability and mechanical properties of ceramics, have the insulation of Laina, and protect the ceramic glaze from discoloration and shrinkage. Therefore, it is widely used in the ceramic industry.
(2)Black talc paper filler
Talc has the characteristics of chemical stability and low hardness. Adding talc in the papermaking process can increase the smoothness and tightness of the paper. Its lubricity can reduce the friction of the paper surface, reduce the adhesion between sheets, and improve the effectiveness in the manufacturing process. Black talc can be calcined and whitened at high temperature to make it have the same characteristics as talc, and the price is low. It also meets the talc standard used in the paper industry (jc161-82).
(3)Polymer filler
Two kinds of black talc are used as polymer filler, one is calcined talc powder. It is fired at high temperature and loses crystal water. The layered crystal structure becomes a chain structure and the hardness increases. It can be used in plastic products that need to improve the hardness and strength. The other is black talc powder, which can be directly used in making black plastic. According to the research, the impact strength can be improved by adding black talc powder (the total amount of carbon black is no more than 3%) in the production of HDPE, and the tensile strength can be improved by adding black talc powder (the total amount of carbon black is no more than 5%).
Because black talc has the inherent characteristics of talc, has certain hydrophobicity and good dispersion, and has better compatibility with polymer than pure carbon black, it has broad application prospects in improving the properties of polymer.
(4)Building materials: Black talcum powder for waterproof coating
Due to the hydrophobicity, low hardness and chemical stability of talc, adding talc into the coating can enhance the anti-wear and anti-corrosion effect of the coating. The flake structure of talc makes it have good adsorption and rheology, which can improve many properties of the coating, such as preventing sagging during coating and sedimentation during storage. It is found that adding 10% talc to the coating can improve the waterproof performance of the fire retardant coating, and adding 20% talc powder can enhance the thermal insulation performance of the coating. The coating with talc powder has high brightness and smoothness in use. In developed countries such as the United States and Western Europe, the coating industry consumes more than 200000 tons of talc every year. Black talc can be calcined to remove organic matter and obtain talc powder that can be used in coatings.
(5) Application of black talc powder in other fields
Due to its small particles, black talc has the characteristics of layered structure of talc after calcination at high temperature, and its price is low. It contains a large amount of silicon, which can block infrared rays. Therefore, it can enhance the efficacy of sunscreen and anti infrared rays of cosmetics, so it can be added to cosmetics such as sunscreen or eye makeup. In addition, because of its low toxicity and adsorption, it can be used as a drug additive to protect the skin and mucous membrane.
