The water slag is a kind of industrial solid waste. With the continuous increase in iron-making output, the amount of water slag produced has increased significantly, resulting in a large amount of accumulation, which will inevitably affect the development of enterprises and social and environmental governance. Therefore, under the current situation, it is of great significance and value to understand and study the performance characteristics of water slag, develop and utilize water slag through industrial equipment such as mills, turn waste into treasure, develop a circular economy, and build a conservation-oriented society.

Water slag is a process in which hot-melted blast furnace slag is placed in water for rapid cooling. There are two main methods: water quenching in the slag pool or water quenching in front of the furnace. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of processing technology and in-depth research on water slag, it has been found that after grinding water slag to a certain fineness, its performance changes and its application becomes more widespread.

1. Processing and utilization of water slag

As the water slag market continues to expand, the price of water slag is also rising. The water slag products and water slag powder products industry is in short supply, especially water slag cement and water slag aerated blocks. The demand for water slag aerated bricks is constantly increasing. It can be said that water slag processing has become a good project for getting rich quickly, saving energy and reducing emissions in recent years. After the water slag is processed and ground by the grinding mill, especially the vertical mill, the application fields are continuously broadened. The specific application products are:

1)Slag cement products: Portland slag cement, gypsum slag cement, lime slag cement. Lime slag cement can be used for various concrete pre-products cured by steam, as well as unreinforced concrete in water, underground, pavement and other areas, and mortar for industrial and civil buildings;

2)Production of slag bricks and wet-milled slag concrete products: slag bricks, wet-milled slag concrete, aerated steam-cured bricks, aerated concrete blocks, fly ash aerated bricks, burn-free bricks, and pad bricks;

3)Used as thermal insulation filler: it can be used as thermal insulation filler instead of diatomite, saving costs;

4)Production of slag powder: After blast furnace slag is processed by an ultra-fine grinder, it can be used as the main raw material for the production of slag powder, which can be used in construction materials, highways, chemicals, cement, water conservancy, brick making and other industries.

2. Selection of water slag processing and utilization equipment
