Process of magnesite powder processing by magnesite grinding mill:

The purpose of magnesite ore processing powder is to separate silicate minerals from magnesite and magnesite from dolomite, mainly through heavy medium, thermal separation, flotation and carbonization. These methods all need to process magnesite ore into powder. Magnesite ore powder processing is usually realized by using magnesite suspension roller mill. Its process flow is: raw materials with suitable particle size are sent to the host through the feeding mechanism (vibration/belt/screw feeder or air lock feeder, etc.); The high-speed rotating grinding roller tightly rolls on the grinding ring under the action of centrifugal force. The materials are shoveled by the blade to the grinding area formed by the grinding roller and the grinding ring. The materials are broken into powder under the action of the grinding pressure; Under the action of the fan, the materials milled into powder are blown through the separator, and those meeting the fineness requirements pass through the separator, while those failing to meet the requirements are stopped by the separator and returned to the grinding chamber for further grinding.

The three are mainly used to produce magnesia refractories and related products, which are consumed in magnesite 90% in the structure; Secondly, it is also used in the production of magnesium compounds, including additives used in paper industry, light industry and feed and rubber production; In addition, a small amount is used for refining magnesium metal and others. The main products and applications of magnesite ore processing powder include:

(1) Light burned magnesium: light burned magnesium is the first step of magnesite calcination, with an annual output of about 5~6 million tons. It is a very important magnesia based refractory material, which is applied to calcine various grades of sintered magnesia by pressing balls according to its different chemical composition, particle size and performance, synthesize magnesia alumina spinel sand, magnesia calcium sand and other composite materials with materials of different content such as Al2O3, CaO, etc., produce fused magnesia, and produce slag splashing magnesia balls for converter protection. In addition, it is also the raw material of magnesium chemical products, such as light MgO, light MgCO3, magnesium fertilizer, magnesium building materials, feed additives, etc.

(2) Sintered magnesia: sintered magnesia is also known as metallurgical heavy burned magnesia (magnesia content 90~92%), medium grade magnesia (magnesia content 94~95%), and high-purity magnesia (magnesia content ≥ 96% or ≥ 97%). At present, the total output of sintered magnesia in China exceeds 5 million tons per year. The main applications are ordinary magnesia fired bricks and amorphous refractories; Medium grade magnesia bricks, directly combined with magnesia bricks, magnesia spinel bricks and some magnesia amorphous refractories; High grade magnesia refractory products.

(3) Electric fused magnesia: at present, the electric fused magnesia with w (MgO)>98.5% in China accounts for 90% of the world market, and the electric fused magnesia with w (Mg0)>98% accounts for 60% of the world market, which is widely used. Due to the high energy consumption and the need for high-grade ores, this product is currently a development project restricted by the national energy policy; In addition, the production of fused magnesia has high requirements for energy saving and quality control of technology/equipment, small production capacity and concentrated production areas.

(4) Fine chemical raw materials: magnesite can be calcined to obtain light burned magnesia, heavy magnesia, high-temperature electrical grade magnesia, high-purity fused magnesia and other magnesia raw materials, which are the main magnesite magnesia chemical products. Among them, nanometer magnesium hydroxide and nanometer magnesium oxide are important raw materials for high-performance fine materials, nanocomposites and optical materials due to their large specific surface area, high activity and good flame retardancy.
